This morning’s green smoothie – I find the pineapple makes the smoothie much more liquid and less like a slushie. I even added more banana but still very much like a liquid drink. Still tasty tho!
Green smoothie recipe:
– 1 cup pineapple chunks
– 1 big banana
– as much spinach as you can jam into the blender (you won’t taste it at all)
– orange juice (preferably fresh squeeze if you can get it)
Can you taste the banana? If so, how much vs. the pineapple flavor? Thanks!
Hi Jen – thanks so much for stopping by – I use one banana in the smoothie – I will say that of all the smoothies I make, the pineapple makes this one a lot more “liquid”. And this one I taste the pineapple – it basically tastes like a pineapple drink! The banana supposedly helps the smoothies to become more smooth – I have been freezing the bananas and that helps too.
I will share more of my recipes – I think the strawberry is my favorite.
Thanks! Looking forward to it. I can tolerate banana but am not a fan, so this sounded WAY better than most of the recipes I see.
I think the one thing I’ve learned so far is to just play around – if you don’t like banana, remove it and try adding more pineapple or maybe another fruit. Natali Del-Conte-Morris replied on the facebook post that she makes smoothies for her son using almond milk.
The possibilities are endless
Only things I didn’t love so far are the blueberries and raspberries have these tiny seeds and I didn’t like drinking that part.
