My First Colon Cleanse!

colon cleanse - oxy powderAbout a month ago Linda suggested I might want to try a colon cleanse. She’s mentioned it on her blog a number of times and I was excited to give it a try. Of course when I hear colon cleanse, the first thing I think of are the late-night infomercials telling viewers how they have all this compacted fecal matter and how their pills or powders will break it all loose and make you lose weight overnight, become sexier, make more money than you have ever dreamed, etc, etc, etc.

Since I completely trust Linda with my life, I purchased the brand she suggests, Oxy-Powder. It’s about $25 for enough capsules for a cleanse. Linda suggested I start on the weekend so I can see how everything feels without impacting the work week. I planned to do it 3 weeks in a row but each week I completely forgot about it until Sunday night so I held off on starting.

It seems like there are a million products on the market for colon cleansing. The Oxy-Powder seemed different because it is just one ingredient: oxygenated magnesium.

But last weekend was the starting point for my first colon cleanse. I am ready to do this! The bottle says take 4 pills before you go to sleep and then add 1-2 pills until you use the bathroom 3-5 times the following day. I started with the 4 pills and went to sleep. Nothing really happened the next day so I added another pill the next night.

And from that point forward, each night I’ve gotten up two or three times to use the bathroom – it’s quick in, quick out, back to sleep. And the daytime hours have been same as usual.

I don’t know if I’ve lost any real weight but I feel SO much better. I feel “loose” – I don’t really know how else to explain it. I feel like I have more hop in my step, more hip in the hop, more get up and go. Now maybe most of this feeling is just from my new healthy lifestyle but I do know that a lot of stuff left my body this week – I am sure that the stuff that left was filled with crap, toxins, more crap, etc.

The awesome part is that doing this colon cleanse is getting rid of more of the old me – and now the space can be filled with new me.

I am so glad I gave this colon cleanse a try and I am sure I will do it more often in the future.

I was SCARED to read this post. I’m all for open information but clicking on a colon cleanse blog link had me leery! I gotta say, you described your experience so that I was able to fully understand it without it being totally gross. I can’t thank you enough for that, and I’m going to look into this. I like to think of having a fresh start to the old car engine now that the “gas” I’m fueling it with is so much better!

Thanks Jenny – I will add a note on facebook – there’s no reason to get gross on the post :) It really was easy and I swear I feel so much better overall. It’s like the pipes in our house – sometimes you gotta run some draino in there to get them flowing right – otherwise you stand in a puddle when you shower :)
