Healthy Eating Tips When Traveling

Yesterday I wrote about my upcoming first trip since I stopped eating fast food and that I need to figure out how to stay away from crap on my trip.

My awesome nutritionist is traveling this weekend and she put together a short video (below) with tips on how to eat healthy while traveling – both for plane travel and for hotel stays.

Some of her suggestions I can’t have because I stay away from nuts and seeds, but I do agree that as soon as I get to the hotel, I will stop at the supermarket and get some fruits for the hotel room – I can’t believe I will buy bananas for the hotel room when I used to always stock up on Twinkies or donuts in the hotel room. The change makes me smile when I think about it.

She also suggests bringing a small blender on trips (she took her huge vitamix!) and I have a small blender but I don’t know if the blade will be able to be carried in a carry-on bag. Since this trip is only for 4 nights, I think I will go without the blender and just buy a smoothie locally.
